The Royal Enfield as currently produced is a throwback to the mid 1950s, same style and engineering as the original with very little change until just this past year. The 500cc thumper is a very basic machine with British bloodlines and pretty much the performance you would expect from a mid 50s half liter single, which is to say, it could use a boost. Paul Carberry, down in Australia, had the idea of adding another cylinder and creating a V-Twin out of the basic engine, doubling displacement, giving it a satisfying sound and getting a nice performance increase at the same time.

PRE-RIDE JITTERS
I know most of you can relate: I tossed and turned all last night, dreaming of the ride I planned to take today. I read a post regarding Lake Norris before I went to bed. I checked maps and decided I would go there and explore. I could/will ride the back roads there, photographing the things I spot along the way, and boot scoot home the highways...I guess all this excitment during the night sleeping hours went for naught. I forgot to check the weather and I find myself staring at rain this morning with the weather dude calling for 50% chance of it going on most of the day. Rain sucks. Tomorrow looks better. I guess I will just do some long awaited maintenance on my Lil Girl today..she'll be a better ride tomorrow!

Got this reprint on Feebay awhile ago, can you ID the old bikes and the years?The tiller style handlebars are awkward to steer. Iron pistons vs todays aluminum pistons.
By the Great Depression in 1929,many of the old marquees were gone to history or on the way out.Can u see the dog and cat in the foto? and what bike is that in the window?
