The Ostoure super-naked motorcycle design concept

The Ostoure super-naked motorcycle concept is Iranian designer Mohammad Reza Shojaie's take on the street muscle bike of the future. The concept draws inspiration from ancient Persian engravings, combining these with cutting-edge design elements and some high-tech trimmings such as two-wheel drive and an in-helmet heads-up display.
Ostoure means “legend” in Persian, and Shojaie says the bike’s design was inspired by the stone engravings of ancient Persepolis. Combining a muscular look with more delicate detailing, the Ostoure has an aggressive but refined appearance that would not be out of place on the boulevards of the near future.
The concept bike, which exists only as renderings at this point, features two-wheel drive with apparent shaft drive and dual differentials. Although it’s not clear from the renderings, Shojaie says steering is through the front wheel linkage, implying some type of hub steering. You steer the bike using the two handgrips located on either side of the fairing. The designer claims this nonstandard arrangement would be similar to piloting an aircraft.

IZH is most famous for being the manufacturer of the Kalashnikov AK-47. But did you know the company also built the first Russian motorcycle in 1928, and has since produced 12 million bikes? I didn’t either, but I do now—thanks to L.A.-based designer Igor Chak. After making a name for himself at Nokia, Chak has set up a freelance design business and turned his eye to envisioning motorcycles for the future. He’s chosen the iconic Russian IZH brand as the basis for his “2012 hybrid” concept motorcycle, and focused on safety—with a dual airbag system and front forks designed to act as crumple zones in the event of a collision. “The bike is also equipped with a proximity regulating radar system that works together with a front facing on-board camera,” says Chak. “It can be programmed for any distance between the bike and an object. So if a car in front of you brakes unexpectedly, the bike will automatically slow down to keep a minimum distance.” Chak foresees 50% of the engine being made of heat-resistant and highly reinforced plastic, with built-in wiring and circuitry. “Having the majority of wires and hoses being built into the frame and engine reduces weight, and damage to wires such as corrosion and decay,” he says. To boost the V-twin engine, there’s a brushless 60kw electric motor built into the rear wheel rim, with power coming from a hyper-efficient lithium sulfide battery. The IZH also uses a camera built into the front with night vision capabilities—and the images are overlaid with GPS data to provide ‘augmented reality’ navigation for the rider. It’s easy to dismiss such radical thinking as fantasy, but Chak’s concept is grounded in reality and the technology is available today. Yamaha Tesseract Concept Bike

This is a hybrid 4-wheeled vehicle powered by a combination of a liquid-cooled V-twin gasoline engine and an electric motor. It is also designed with a unique dual-scythe suspension that enables cornering with a lean (banking) like a motorcycle despite the 4-wheel format. There is also a dual arm-lock system that keeps the machine upright when at rest without a stand. With a machine width roughly equivalent to that of a 2-wheeler for great maneuverability and space saving, while offering excellent stability, the environmental performance of a hybrid and more, this is a model that Yamaha will continue to conduct research and development on as a revolutionary “premium vehicle” for the future.

Motorcycle concept: A3W Motiv Trike Concept

A3W Motiv Trike Concept, We had beforehand accounting about Nick Dagostino’s three-wheeled Hayabusa (which is not a approved trike…) here, and now here’s French artist Julien Rondino’s three-wheeled motorcycle abstraction – the A3W Motiv.

We’ve accounting to Julien, allurement him for added capacity on the bike. But for now, what we apperceive is that the bike has been advised about KTM’s 999cc LC8 v-twin. A3W Motiv Trike Concept, The anatomy seems to be a mix of casting aluminium and animate tube sections and the bike is arranged with absorbing $.25 – hub-centre steering, adjustable ergonomics and Buell-style ambit brakes.
