R.I.P. myrtle beach bike week

i have been coming to myrtle for bike week so many years now, i really didnt pay attention to the media. in preparation for the trip a few weeks ago i started this blog and started hearing about the anti-biker attitude currently in place in myrtle beach. well...i am here, but not too many others are: about 20% of last year's crowd showed up and only 30% of the hotels are filled. no one enters the city of myrtle beach because of the drag pipe/helmet law combo. wtf? hmmm...interesting strategy, myrtle beach, in this economy: closing the door on 300,000 paying customers! whatever...we are still having fun, just elsewhere.

two weeks til the day we leave for myrtle beach bike week. the trailer is ready. the bike is sort of ready: still not thrilled about the replacement handlebars. i'm ready.
