put a little over 300 miles on the new bike this weekend riding with pete from dc to reedville, virginia and back. we hit major storms on the way down friday afternoon for about 30 minutes: thank god for the ferring! once we arrived, the wife cooked us some great grilled shrimp, drank something and we chilled out. did a little fishing in the morning...had a bbq saturday night...ate sunday brunch at buenos nachos. the ride home was perfect and fast. a nice weekend was had by all!
finally got 500 miles on the new bike, so its ready to rip! leaving for the cabin on the northern neck tomorrow with pete. its really hot...august is hot, but i am looking forward to a chill ride south: maybe there will be a bay breeze!
sturgis starts today and runs through august 8th. i wont be heading out this year (too much fishing to do), but, hopefully next year. here is the official site for all your biker needs! the above photo was taken yesterday of shade tree fabrications setting up shop at the buffalo chip.
im sick of hotdogs, hush puppies and deep fried seafood at bike week...i can get that type of food at red lobster, any where. so when we head to myrtle beach this year, i want to eat right! i found this list on a site called 10best.com, which has rankings for a lot of different cities in various categories. some of the places sound a little too romantic for four married bikers, but if the food is good, i don't care!
